Production notes
This unique wine is a blend of 85.5% Syrah with select white and red varietals, co-fermented to create a harmonious, layered flavor profile. To enhance structure and aromatics, 20% of the grapes were fermented as whole clusters, including stems. The wine was then aged for 10 months in used 600L demi-muid barrels, allowing for gentle aging with subtle oak influence.
The result is a balanced and expressive wine, showcasing complexity from co-fermentation, structure from whole clusters, and finesse from careful aging—a true reflection of Sonoma County’s quality and our winemaker’s artistry.

Five years ago, the story of Angelo’s Vineyard began with the planting of Syrah rootstock in its picturesque setting. Inspired by the Loire Valley, Winemaker Matt Taylor brought cuttings back to Sonoma, carefully storing them for future grafting. As the rootstock matured, Matt grafted these cuttings, creating a unique field blend of five to six varietals.
Last year’s inaugural harvest unveiled a groundbreaking wine that honors the Mascarin family’s Italian heritage and Mia’s great-grandfather’s legacy. This blend reflects a harmonious balance of old-world tradition and new-world innovation, rooted in the history of the Italian-Swiss colony and Dry Creek Valley. It is a living tribute to Sonoma County’s sustainable winemaking and the passion embedded in every vine.
