Production notes

Our 2019 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is crafted with a thoughtful balance of 60% de-stemmed fruit and 40% whole cluster fermentation. Utilizing open-top fermenters, the wine undergoes gentle manual punch-downs to extract optimal flavor and structure. It is then aged for 10 months in a combination of French oak barrels, including both 600L and 228L formats, enhancing its complexity while maintaining elegance and balance.

32 Winds 2019 Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast)

The nose of this wine is a vibrant kaleidoscope of sweet cherry, tangy orange peel, root beer, caramelized shitake mushroom and black tea aromas that evolve with every swirl. The palate brings all of that and more, adding in fresh cranberry, sage, cedar and black peppercorn flavors to the party. Enjoy this with roasted salmon or duck with fried mushrooms.

The 7 Mules and Moonshine Ranch vineyards, part of the historic Martinelli Ranches, exemplify the exceptional terroir of the Russian River Valley. Moonshine Ranch, planted in the mid-1990s, is known for its rocky, cobblestone-strewn soils and cool coastal influences, which contribute to the vineyard’s structured and vibrant Pinot Noir. The vineyard’s name nods to its colorful Prohibition-era history, with its barn once housing a moonshine operation.
7 Mules Vineyard, another standout site, offers a unique expression of Pinot Noir rooted in meticulous farming practices and the Martinelli family’s multigenerational legacy. Together, these vineyards provide fruit that reflects the balance, depth, and complexity of Sonoma County’s finest growing regions.
