The Platt Chardonnay offers vibrant acidity that provides a refreshing lift and structure, complemented by a creamy yet precise texture. Its minerality is pronounced, with flinty and saline characteristics that evoke a sense of coastal terroir. The wine’s quality is exceptional, showcasing clarity and balance, while the mouthfeel is both polished and layered, leaving a long, invigorating finish.
Our Platt Chardonnay is crafted with precision, aged in a thoughtful mix of 40% concrete eggs and large oak barrels, with only 15% new oak. This balanced approach allows the wine to retain its vibrant coastal character while gaining subtle depth and texture. The concrete eggs enhance the purity of the fruit and bring a refined minerality, while the large oak barrels add gentle structure and a polished finish. The result is a Chardonnay that beautifully reflects the clarity and intensity of the legendary Platt Vineyard.

The Platt Vineyard, located just 5 miles from the Pacific Ocean in the Sonoma Coast AVA, benefits from an ideal combination of cool marine influences and rugged terrain, creating a microclimate that is perfect for producing expressive, fruit-forward wines with balanced acidity. The vineyard’s elevation (400-800 ft) and Goldridge soil provide optimal drainage and encourage vine stress, resulting in concentrated, high-quality fruit.
